"Our purpose of Juicing"

How it began

Many of you may not know this, but juicing has been a big part of our nutrition and health. Our father taught us how to juice and instilled in us the importance of juicing to optimize our health. To be honest, we actually hated some of the juices our father would make for us. His belief was that veggies/leafy greens were better for healing and sustaining good health. So our father would hardly ever juice fruits other than a half of an apple for taste. Fruits contain a lot of sugar and are basically sweeteners. We learned later in life the importance of juicing and passed it on to our children, friends, and family.

Why do we prefer juicing over blending our fruits & vegetables?

Juicing extracts the nutrients and vitamins while separating the fiber from the juice. Don’t get us wrong, fiber is very good for you, but it makes it difficult to digest. Fiber also increases volume, which will decrease the amount of nutrients readily available. Without the fiber, it’s easier for our body to digest and absorb the nutrients available. One of the main reasons why we prefer juicing is that it allows us to consume an abundance of nutrients in one glass of juice. To get the same amount of nutrients you will have to eat a lot of produce which will be hard to do. Smoothies are good also, but we use them for other reasons. Smoothies are good meal replacements and a great way of increasing your fiber intake. Juicing is a great way you can add live enzymes, essential minerals, antioxidants, and natural antibiotics to your nutrition. Give it a try, your body will appreciate you for it.

You’re probably asking yourself what we do with the leftover pulp from the juice ?

You don’t have to throw the pulp away. They are several ways you can recycle the pulp.

  1. Can be added to your smoothies.
  2. You can use it as fertilizer for plants.
  3. Last but not least, you can use it to make quick breads. One of our favorite ways to use it. You don’t have to stop there, we’ve even seen meatballs that were made with juice pulp. Sometimes, we would freeze the pulp to be used later.

Here’s a sweet bread we made with juice pulp;

Basically flour, baking powder/soda, oil, spices with dried fruit or natural sweeteners (optional). It’s good to have for a snack.
